Reserve Deputy Program

The reserve program in Lake County was established in 1963, and are a team of trained citizen volunteers who assist Deputies in enforcement duties and work jointly to focus on crime reduction.

Why become a Reserve Deputy?

Reserve Deputies will receive training but not limited to:

• Orientation and Organization
• Crime Prevention
• CPR and First Aid
• Introduction to Law
• Driver Awareness
• Patrol Procedures
• Traffic Control
• Radio Communications
• Basic Report Writing

Qualifications

• Eighteen (18) years of age or older
• Good moral character
• Good driving record
• No felony convictions
• Current United States citizen
• Pass background check
• Have a valid driver's license

Requirements

• Good people skills
• Wear approved uniform (provided)
• Attend monthly meetings
• Attend and complete a Reserve Academy
• Maintain a positive attitude
• Enjoy your time
• Present a professional appearance at all times
