DEPUTIES RECEIVE MEDALS

DEPUTIES AWARDED WITH MEDALS FOR THE CAPTURE OF A HOMICIDE SUSPECT

On 08-20-2014 Sgt Donald Maivillle, Deputy Robert Meyers, and Deputy Mickael Ashker were presented with the Medal of Valor for their performance in the capture of a homicide suspect on 08-08-2014. This award is given to those Officers who exhibit courage in the performance of their duties when the Officer is aware of the possible self-sacrifice.

Deputy Mickael Ashker was also presented with the Life Saving Commendation for saving the life of a fellow Officer. This award is given to an Officer in recognition of acts that contribute to the saving of a person’s life.

Deputy James Buscaino was presented with the Meritorious Service Commendation for his quick actions taken to stop and render aid to victims of a traffic crash after being hit by the suspect vehicle that was traveling in excess of 90 miles per hour.

Members of the Lake County Sheriff Department are proud of the actions taken that day and are grateful that none of the Officers were injured.
