Reserve Deputy Program
The reserve program in Lake County was established in 1963, and are a team of trained citizen volunteers who assist Deputies in enforcement duties and work jointly to focus on crime reduction.

Reserve Deputies will receive training but not limited to:
- Orientation and Organization
- Crime Prevention
- CPR and First Aid
- Introduction to Law
- Driver Awareness
- Patrol Procedures
- Traffic Control
- Radio Communications
- Basic Report Writing
Qualifications
- Eighteen (18) years of age or older
- Good moral character
- Good driving record
- No felony convictions
- Current United States citizen
- Pass background check
- Have a valid driver's license
Requirements
- Good people skills
- Wear approved uniform (provided)
- Attend monthly meetings
- Attend and complete a Reserve Academy
- Maintain a positive attitude
- Enjoy your time
- Present a professional appearance at all times
